A special shopping event at an Arkansas Walmart turned extra special with the help of a young lady’s version of the National Anthem. The video will have you a smile.
December 9th was a special day for some kids in North Little Rock. They were waiting for the start of the “Shop with a Cop” event at their local Walmart.
The local police offers wanted to give the kids in their community a chance to interact with law enforcement in a positive way. They decided to take kids in need a chance to go shopping with a cop, helping them find gifts for family members.
The police officers love to see the smiles on the kids’ faces. Every child gets a $200 Walmart gift card that they can use to buy gifts for family as well as themselves.
The officers have as much fun as the kids. It’s something they look forward to sharing with kids in their community.
One officer commented that walking around and seeing the cops with their young charges is something special. It gives the officers a chance to interact with the youngest citizens in the community. The joy on the children’s faces warms everyone’s hearts
To make this year’s event extra special, everyone had the chance to hear the national anthem sung by a young lady by the name of Annie Zimmerman.
A video of the 10-year-old’s performance shows the power and confidence of her voice. It gave everyone chills to listen.
Annie has already garnered attention for a 2017 video where she was interviewed after a talent show audition. The young singer cited Bob Dylan as her inspiration and her interest in singing started after watching a talent show as a young child.
Annie’s dad, Mike, stated that she had always been a natural singer, from the time she was a toddler. She loves crowds and loves to act, sing, play the piano, and even write songs.
The Walmart crowd loved her performance at the “Shop with a Cop” event. It shows this young lady has the talent to go a long way.
